Explain why touching a bare electricity wire with current flowing through it gives an electric shock. What happens if the body is wet?

If a person touch any part of live appliance,a very high current flows through his body into the earth.Due to this circuit completeness he will get an electrical shock.But if he is not in touch with the earth and standing on an insulator such as wooden plank,the circuit of current with earth does not get completed through his body and he does not get an electric shock.

Water too conducts electric current. So when we are wet our body become a conductor and this further contributes to electric current passes through our body and we get shock.
