Given: 4x+3y=8 (i) x+y=1 (ii) Now, On solving (i) and (ii), we get,

â‡’y = -4 Put this value in (i), we get, â‡’4x+3(-4)=8 â‡’4x-12=8 â‡’4x=20 â‡’x=5 Now, $\frac{y - y_{1}}{x - x_{1}} = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1}}{x_{2} - x_{1}}$ Here, $y_{1} = 0, x_{1} = 0 y_{2} = - 4, x_{2} = 5$ $\Rightarrow \frac{y - 0}{x - 0} = \frac{- 4 - 0}{5 - 0} \Rightarrow \frac{y}{x} = \frac{- 4}{5} \Rightarrow 5 y + 4 x = 0$
