FIND THE RATIO IN WHICH THE Y- AXIS DIVIDES THE LINE SEGMENT JOINING THE POINTS ( 5 , -6 ) AND ( -1 , -4 ) .
for such a question i know that the ratio is taken as k : 1 . But what ratio should be taken if it is asked for x - axis ?
Is it the same ?
Here is the link for the answer to your query:
When it is given in the question to find: "the ratio in which x-axis divides the line segment joining the points (5, –6) and (–1, –4)".
Then instead of taking the point as (α, 0), we will take the point as (0, α) and the ratio as k : 1.
Hope you got the concept now.
