find the sum of the first 50 odd natural numbers?

The first 50 natural odd numbers = 1,3,5,7... (upto 50 terms) which is an AP

Now, sn = n/2 [2a + (n-1)d]

S50 = 50/2 [2x1 + (50-1)2]

= 25 (2 + 98)

= 25 x 100

= 2500

 a =1

d= 2

n=50

s50 = 25 ( 2 + 49 *2)

S50 = 25*100

S50 = 2500

hope it helps

The following formula will help u to find the sum of the odd numbers

the first n odd numbers are 1,3,5...n

here a=1

  d=2

Sn=n/2*{2a+(n-1)d}

  =n/2{2*1+(n-1)2}

  =n/2{2+2n-2}

  =n/2*2n

  =n2

therefore sum of first 50  odd numbers is 502 =2500

So the sum of first n odd numbers=n2

The sum of first n odd natural numbers = n2

Sum of fist 50 odd natural  numbers = 502 = 2500
