Give a brief sketch of the Bholi's family . ( From the book of footprints without feet, Chapter name - Bholi )

Solution
Bholi was born in an ordinary family. Her father, Ramlal was the Numberdar of his village. Ramlal had seven children i.e. three sons and four daughters. He was very prosperous but quite traditional in his outlook. He sent his son to the city for higher education, but he arranged for his daughters when they were quite young. He was extremely worried about Bholi because of her looks and stuttering. Ramlal had to send Bholi to school because of pressure from Tehsildar.
Bholi's mother had backward thinking. She believed if the girls were allowed to go to school, nobody would marry them. Bholi wanted special care and attention from her parents, but neither of them did that looked after her wish. They only wanted to get her married. Bishamber's marriage proposal came for Bholi. They accepted the proposal without consulting Bholi knowing that he was a widower and many years older than Bholi.
