Patrick Pringle's "Albert Einstein in School" provides us with a rare insight into the younger years of Einstein. Even as a child Einstein's notions were quite progressive. He explains to his teacher that it is unnecessary to study anything by rote. Instead one should try to analyze the given scenario and always ask the question "why". However, these notions of Einstein was not understood by anyone, except his Mathematics teacher. Einstein felt trapped in this situation and hated going to school. The reader gets to see a glimmer of the future genius through this biography of Einstein.

Yuri is the only friend Einstein has. He is sympathetic towards Einstein and understands why Albert wants to go to Milan and study there. Yuri helps Einstein get the certificate from Dr. Weil that will help his stay away from school.

Dr. Weil is another sympathizer of Einstein. He too understands Einstein's predicament an his desire to missing school for six months. He readily provides him with a certificate stating that Albert is suffering from a nervous breakdown and should not be attending school. Thus, Dr. Weil an Yuri are the two people in this story, who sympathizes with Einstein's condition.
