Give a small write-up on different components of blood with their normal count/percent in
tabular form. Also mention the difference in their values for men and women (if any).

Dear student,
Please find below the answer:

The blood is divided into two parts- Plasma (55%) and blood corpuscles (45%).

The plasma is made up of water (92%), proteins (6-7%) like globulins, albumins, fibrinogen, and prothrombin, salts or ions like sodium, potassium, calcium, iron (0.8%), and glucose (0.2%).

Blood corpuscles comprise RBCs, WBCs, and Platelets.

Erythrocytes (RBCs): They carry the oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body.
Platelets: They help in the coagulation of blood by releasing the chemicals that clot blood at the site of injury or wound.
Blood cells RBCs WBCs Platelets
Number /mm3 in males 4.5-6.0 million 4000-10000 1.5-4 lakhs
Number /mm3 in females 4.0-4.4 million 4000-10000 1.5-4 lakhs

White blood cells are also known as leucocytes. Various types of leukocytes are neutrophils (60-70%), eosinophils (8-10%), basophils (0.1%), lymphocytes (21%), and monocytes (6-8%). Monocytes and neutrophils are phagocytes (i.e they digest the foreign cells); eosinophils resist infections; basophils are involved in inflammatory reaction. Lymphocytes are responsible for immune responses.

Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.
