Give reasons:

(i) Freshwater fish cannot survive in sea water.

(ii) Plants growing in well fertilized soils wilt if the soil is not watered.

1) Freshwater fish cannot survive in sea water as it is not tolerant to high salt conditions of sea water. Salty water causes fish to loose water from their cells quickly through osmosis  with no way of replacing it as present in sea water fishes.
2) Plants growing in well fertilised soil will definitely wilt if water is not supplied to them properly. Nutrients available in fertilizers will only reach to plants by getting dissolved in water.

exosmosis will occur

salt concentration is more outside so water will come outside the plant

if a freshwater fish is placed in a hypertonic soln ie salt water then exosmosis will occur.Because the fish is hypotonic, contains more water as sea water surrounding it.due to which exosmosis will occur and water from his body will move out.he will get plasmolysed and will die
