1. Electric Plugs and switches are made of plastic because they are insulators, which do not allow electricity to pass through them.
2. Polythene bags should not be thrown along with garbage because

a) They are non-biodegradable.

b) Many stray animals, especially cows feed on garbage. In the process of eating the food waste they may swallow polythene bags. The plastic material chokes the respiratory system of these animals, or forms a lining in their stomachs and can be the cause of their death.

c) The polythene bags also result in clogging of drains.
 

5) Cotton, a natural fiber, is a good absorber of water. It  helps in absorbing the sweat and expose it to the  atmosphere for easy perspiration. This make us feel cool. Moreover, cotton clothes have large holes through which air can pass easily. These are few reasons why we should prefer wearing cotton clothes in summers.
