a) State the Law of Constant/ Definite Proportion. Explain the law formula of CO2 and Ammonia.

Dear student,
  • Law of DEFINITE PROPORTION states that 
 "A chemical compound is always made up of the exact same proportion of elements by mass"
Any change in the mass will result in formation of new compound.
In CO2 , 72% by mass is oxygen if we change it , a new compound willl be formed.
Similarly in NH3 , 17.6% by mass is hydrogen and change in it will change to a new compound
  • H2O = 18g
​​mass% of H = (2/18) * 100
                    11.12%
mass% of O = (16/18) * 100
                      88.8%
