Before everybody could discuss about Bill's profession they make sure that Harold is not around. Mrs. Bramble is informed by Bill that he is considering to drop the idea of the final fight with Murphy. To this, Mrs. Bramble responds by blaming Percy for giving him all wrong ideas and she tries to make Bill realise that this fight is extremely important for him because of the monetary benefit that they were going to get out of the fight. The money earned would be used to repay loans and provide good education to Harold. Though, Mrs. Bramble did not approve of Bill's profession, she did not want him to withdraw at the eleventh hour.
