Hi experts ..pls.read the following statement .Now my question is "why" why this happens, pls give complete explanation ( this point is written with reference to practical -refaction through prism ) pls tell why cant we take angle of incidence lesser than 30.degree or more than 60 degree

Dear Student,
This is probably the measurement conditions of a physics experiment entitled," Determination of angle of deviation as a function of angle of incidence"
Theoretically, there is no restriction in the choice of angle of incidence. Experimentally, due to the structure of the prism, for angle of incidence less than 30o, the emergent ray which comes out is very close to the edge of the prism, sometimes away from the prism reflecting surface and is hard to detect.
For angles beyond 60o, is very small and is almost along the prism reflecting surface making it hard to detect.
Best measurements and also the estimation of angle of minimum deviation can be done within a measurement range of 30o to 60o.

the case of 30 and 60 degrees of angle of incidence, the refracted ray is easily observable so that we can find the angle of refraction and emergence accurately. Hence, these angles are preferred.
