Hi guys

Why non polar covalent compound are insoluable in water .give reason

Please give the ans

Dear student..
Non polar covalent compounds are insoluble in water, because  water is a polar molecule. According to the rule of the thumb- 'like dissolves like', non-polar covalent compounds are soluble in organic solvents and generally organic solvents are non-polar. The two which are of the same type- either both polar or both non-polar are dissolves in each other. Hence Non-polar covalent compounds are insoluble in water, because water is a polar molecule and non polar molecules are unable to form hydrogen bond with water.

Beacuse water is polar and oils is non polar , their molecules are not attracted to each other.
The molcules of polar solvent like water are attracted to others polar molecules such as those of sugar...so many substances dissolve in water.

Unlike Polar Solvent, Non polar solvent can't form partial positive and partial negative charge and water molecule act as a dipole which can't attracts the non polar sovent

Because they are insoluble that's why😂
