Hi.
In rectification of errors, what does " wrongly posted to debit of his account" mean?
For eg, Credit purchases from Raghu Rs 20000 wrongly posted to the debit of his account"
What does it mean, what is the correct journal entry and what is the rectification journal entry?
Thank you.

Dear Student,

It means that, it should be credited to his/her account but wrongly posted to debit side of his account.

Correct Journal entry will be

Purchase A/c   Dr             20,000
 To Raghu's A/c                                      20,000

rectification entry will be

Suspense A/c  Dr.               40.000
    To Raghu's A/c                                   40,000

IT MEANS THAT THE A/C THAT YOU HAVE TO CREDIT  IS STANDING DEBIT

NOW IT HAS TO BE RECTIFIED

IT IS RECTIFIED BY    CREDIT THAT A/C WITH DOUBLE  AMOUNT

wrongly debited to the debit of his account means an amount wrongly entered or posted to the debit side of an account now .it completely depends upon the question .that the error is of which kind.
the ans for ur question is

suspense a/c      ....dr     20000
    to Raghu                               20000
( being the error rectified )
here we had made a credit purchase from raghu so as per rule the entry to be passed is

purchases a/c    ...dr
  to raghu

but, raghu's a/c has been wrongly debited . so we need to credit his a/c for the same
now , since the error occured after the preparation of trial balance therefore the suspense a/c is open therefore to corect the error the entry to be passed is mentioned at the top..
