While Mr. Lamb was physically challenged, that is he had a tin leg, Derry on the other hand had a half burnt face. Mr. Lamb had lost his leg in a blast and people did not feel disgusted at the sight of his disability as much as they did when they saw Derry's half burnt face. Derry believed that nobody liked to look at him, not even his own mother, whereas Mr. Lamb's case was not the same and he could never understand his pain. Thus, Derry said that his disability was a lot different from that of Mr. Lamb.
