How are the basic life processes interrelated to one another

Dear student,

Basic life processes for a living organism like human includes: Metabolism, Organisation, Movement, Response to stimuli, and Reproduction. Humans are considered most complex organisms, they have various requirements like differentiation of cell, growth, digestion and excretion. All the processes are inter-related , not even a single cell can work in isolation.
Each system depends on the other and the whole organ system works together to achieve goals/requirements of the individual.
.At the organisation level, we can find division of labour and if a cell loses the organisation it will die.

Metabolism includes anabolism and catabolism. Catabolism is the breakdown of complex molecules to release energy, that is required by various cycles that takes place inside the body or cell.

Response to stimuli, is the act of sensing a stimuli and responding to it. Without responsiveness, our body would not know about a stimuli and no action would be taken by the nervous system in order to respond.
Movement are of many types, connective tissues connects the whole body internally, like Blood which carries gases and nutrients from one part of the body to another. Whenever a response is needed , the muscles of our body work together and helps a human body to take action. movements of muscle is called contraction and relaxation.

Reproduction is the next process that is essential and it is not only production of new offsprings but it also refers to formation of new cells and repair of damaged cells inside our body, called as cellular reproduction. This is essential for survival.
Growth is the increase in the number of cells, height, body weight. Growth somehow depends on metabolism. For growth anabolism should be faster than catabolism.

Respiration, the most important process of life, provides oxygen and helps in oxidation of glucose in the body to produce energy and again this energy is used by the cells of the body. Digestion and Excretion are responsible for the intake of nutrient and removal of waste from the body respectively. Food gives us nutrients in many forms, mainly protein, fats and carbohydrates (glucose and sugars). without digestion, excretion can not happen and thus all the life processes depends on each other and helps in the survival of a living organism.
Not only biological processes but life also depends on physical environmental factors also which includes oxygen, heat, water etc.
