How can growth of a plant be termed as a physical change?

Dear student

1. Photosynthesis is the process through which plants convert light energy into chemical energy. Here is the chemical reaction involved: As we can see, water and carbon dioxide combine to form glucose and oxygen. Since new chemical species are formed, photosynthesis is clearly a chemical change

2. Growth of a plant is not just a physical change but both physical as well as a chemical change. Physical because it involves changes in the shape and size of the tree (tree on growing becomes bigger in size and its branches spread out). Chemical because growth of a plant is a biochemical process which is regulated by plant hormones and enzymes.

3. Respiration is a chemical change because it is taking in oxygen and utilizing it to release energy as energy is released so it is a chemical change
