how can i diffrenciate between sandy soil and clayey soil ??

Take two pots and create a hole near the base of both the pots. Fill one pot with sandy soil and other with clayey soil. Pour water in both the pots, the pot containing sandy soil would show more percolation and  more water would come out from the hole at the base while clayey soil would show more absorption and less water would reach the base of the pot.
