How can we save water and fuels
Dear student.
1. Travelling by public transport, doing 'car pools' to commute to work, walking and cycling short distances can help save fuel.
2. Switching off the engine at red signal saves fuel.
3. Government has joined hands to promote fossil fuel conservation through the Energy Star program--a program in which appliances must meet strict energy efficiency guidelines. When buying new appliances for our home, we should look for appliances bearing the Energy Star label.
Regards.
Saving Water
- Turn off the water while you brush your teeth or shave.
- Repair any plumbing leaks.
- Water plants early in the day so more water soaks into the soil; at midday, you will lose a lot of water to evaporation.
- Wash only full loads of laundry and full dishwashers.
- Use rain water harvesting system to conserve rain water.
