How can you explain cell division in simple terms?

 You know that a cell is the basic unit of life. When a cell reaches maturity, it divides to give rise to new cells of the same type. This process by which a cell divides to give rise to new cells is known as cell division.

 

Importance of Cell Division:

• Growth in multicellular organisms takes place by cell division.

• Cell repair and replacement of worn out tissues

• Vegetative reproduction in plants takes place by cell division.
