How did increase in trade lead to growth of towns ?
Trading made the meeting up of buyers and sellers imperative. This gave rise to markets and the markets gave way to towns. For the trading of various commodities like spices, cloth and artifacts, towns offered the place for the markets, warehouses as well as the accommodation of the traders and that is how trading paved the ways for the towns.
