how did the author celebrate her birthday ?
Anne received the diary as her thirteenth birthday gift,and two of her other birthday celebrations, which were her 14th and 15th birthday respectively are also chronicled in it. On her 14th birthday,Anne's father Otto, wrote a poem for her, which her sister Margot translated into Dutch from German, and the other inhabitants of the Annex gave her small presents. For her 15th birthday, Anne received a host of presents from everyone, which surprised her, for that almost bordered on extravagance in those times.
