how do height above sea level affrcts the distribution if resources?

The height above the sea level has an impact on the distribution of vegetation and the animals as well.Every animal is not adapted to high altitudes but few are there like The llama is a grazing animal adapted to high elevations. There is also a marked distribution of trees as per the altitude such as:

1000-2000m- wet temperate forests are found, evergreen broad leaved trees

1500-3000m- temperate forests with coniferous trees like pine fir etc.

At higher altitudes temperate grasslands are found.

Above 3,600m above sea level- Alpine forests are found.
