How do the modern farming methods overuse the natural resources?

The modern farming methods overuses the natural resources like the soil, for example. Over use of fertilisers, pesticides and artificial manures does not allow the soil to replenish by itself. The salinity in the soil disrupts the natural nitrogen fixation in the soil. In its course, the method causes the soil to loose its fertility.

In traditional methods we sow seeds by hand or plough, use manure and traditional irrigation like using dhekli, etc. But now we use sowing machines for sowing, thresher and combine for threshing or harvesting, fertilisers and drip irrigation.
