How do trees prevent droughts?

Dear student, Root of the trees hold the soil strongly thus preventing soil erosion.These root prevent sediments run off and protect the ground from the scorching heat of sun.Moreover tree absorbs water and stores it. All these activities done by tress prevent droughts. Thanks and regards.
