how does carbon attain noble gas configuration

Carbon gets noble gets configuration by sharing electrons known as covalent bonds.Carbon form covalent bond because ~
?if it will loose four electrons it will become C4+cation and it will not possible because due to its small atomic size it holds electron very tightly so it requires considerable amount of energy to loose
?if it will gain four electron it will become C4-anion and it will also not possible because due to its small atomic size it will difficult to hold 10 electron-with only 6 protone+...
SO THAT IS THE REASON WHY CARBON FORMS COVALENT BONDS.

carbon has 4 electrons in the outermost shell. in order to attain the noble gas configuration it had to lose or gain 4 electrons. being a tetra valent it had to gain or lose electrons

Carbon has 4 electrons in its outermost shell in order to attain noble gas configuration it has to either losing 4 electrons or by gaining 4 electrons. So carbon can form bond by sharing of its electrons with the electrons of other carbon atom or with other element and attain noble gas configuration.
