How does chubuko react when lomove to ask for the hand of his daughter in marriage?

Chubukov is a dutiful father. He has been anxious about the marriage of his daughter Natalya. The appearance of Lomov in a formal evening dress makes Chubukov surprised. First, he thinks that Lomov has come to him to borrow some money as before. But when Chubukov comes to learn that Lomov has come to him with an intention to ask for Natalya's hand , he is really very glad. He instantly embraces Lomov and kisses him. He calls for God's blessing for Natalya, his daughter and Lomov, his would be son-in-law. He then goes out to call for his daughter Natalya.

Chubukov was very happy when he heard the reason for Lomov's visit. Initially he had assumed that the man had come to borrow money. But when he expressed his desire to have Natalya as his wife, the father was overjoyed.He assures him that Natalya would agree to the proposal. He showers his affection on Lomov and sheds a tear out of happiness and says that it is his heartfelt desire. He does so because he thinks that Lomov would make a good match for his daughter.
