how does direction of wind change in coastal areas during the day time and during night? explain giving reason.

In coastal areas during the day, land gets heated faster than water. So there is low pressure on land and vice versa in the sea. So the wind flows from sea to land. This is known as sea breeze.

During night, the land has quickly radiated all the heat and the sea still possesses some heat. So sea has low pressure and land has high pressure. Hence, the wind direction changes an becomes from land to sea. This is called land breeze.

In the coastal areas in the day time it creates low pressure and in the the night it creates high pressure. So the direction of wind change during day and night.

we know that land gets heated faster than water,so during the daytime air above it heats and rises up,creating low pressure area, but air above the water in the seas remain cool which creates a high pressure.as we know that wind travels from the region of high pressure to the region of low pressure. So, winds travels from sea to land also known as sea breeze

reverse happens during the night

During the daytime, the land gets heated up faster than the sea water, due to which the air above the land also heats faster. it starts rising, causing the formation of a low pressure region. since air moves from high pressure region to low pressure region, so air above sea moves into this area of land.
