how does prejudice lead to discrimination

Prejudice leads to discrimination in the following manner:

a. â€‹Prejudice implies having a negative image about somebody and treating it to be inferior. It denotes a preconceived idea about anything or anybody that is not based on knowledge, reason or thought.
b. It is on the basis of such preconceived ideas that we start discriminating.
c. We may have biased views about any race, religion, culture or language. For example, a person may hold a prejudiced view towards gender, regarding a particular work as best suited for women.
d. A person may then develop a discriminatory attitude based on his prejudiced view. For example, in a conservative society women are not allowed to work .
e. We may also develop a prejudiced attitude against lower caste and discriminate them , by not allowing them to enter temples, not eating with them, not studying in same schools with them.
