How does running water carry out its work?

Dear Student,

a. The running water of river as it crosses steep valley or tumbles at a steep angle it forms a waterfall.
b.  When a river enters a flat plain.  more sediment is dropped , it twist and turn and form bends known as meanders.
c. A meandering river across the flood plain also form cut offs , which develop into ox-bow lakes. 
d. It is the result of erosion and deposition of sediments
e. It is formed when river is slowed down resulting in formation of curves.
f. At times river crosses its banks and floods adjacent areas.
g. Here the it deposits layers of soil called sediments.THis leads to formation of a flood plain.
h. The raised bank is referred as levees.
i.  A triangular deposits made by the river at their mouth and are formed in regions experiencing low tides.

J. Deltas are usually formed in coastal plains
