How does society create stereotypes ? Explain.

Stereotypes in media are usually used to categorize specific groups of people into a general concept that defines them as a single unit. Hispanics, African Americans, Americans, Asians, and many more ethnic groups are commonly taken by a general misconception that the media has helped to spread among society.

Stereotypes are created by society as a single harmless joke on somebody who looks different. Then everybody around this person will start teasing him. People who tease him will share the joke with friends who do not live in the area of the victim. Then the friend will start teasing the person who looks similar to the original victim. Then this keeps spreading until, after some time, people no longer see it as a joke but as a fact. This is how a stereotype is formed.
