how does solar energy change to chemical energy of biomass

Plant in the time of photosynthesis absorb sun light by chlorophyll. Which then uses the energy of sun light to convert the carbon-dioxide and water to starch, which is then stored in the plant as food. This is the chemical energy of the biomass.
