The stormy shore changed into fatal shore as Lord Ullin's daughter with her lover died as she passed the shore and sail into the sea.

when lord ullin came to the shore he saw his daughter drowning. the sea behind the shore is stormy and who ever goes into the sea will meet death. here the shore is called fatal because of the sea behind it and it is also been described as gateway to death.

this happened as they progressed into the storm the sea water became more wilder and as it says in the poem that the waters were prevailing which means that the sea conquered the ship in which they were in and as the died near the shore the shore was considered "fatal" as in deathly .
