how does use of supersonic planes cause ozone layer depletion ?
Dear Student
Supersonic planes exhaust lead to the production of hydroxyl ion and water vapor that lead to the greenhouse effect. The oxidation also lead to the production of oxides of nitrogen that cause ozone depletion. NO2 released at stratosphere stay unreactive and where major part is converted to nitrogen and oxygen UV photolysis which ultimately leads to depletion of ozone layer.
Hope this information will clear your doubts about the topic.
