How does zygote in fungi and algae overcome dessication?

In organisms like algae and fungi, the zygote is prevented from desiccation and damage by the development of a thick wall around it which is resistant to desiccation. These thick walled zygotic spores undergo a period of dormancy and germinate when they receives proper conditions of growth.
