How forest is able to function as an independent unit

A large area which is covered with plants, mainly with trees and undergrowth is called a forest. A forest is a huge living unit with several components like plants, animals, insects, birds, environment ets. All these units function along with one another and strike a balance in nature. There are several complex food chains and food webs. The inorganic components like air, water, soil etc naturally recycle and get reused in nature.
