how has evolution helped clasaification

Evolution can be referred to slow, gradual and continuos process by which the previously existing organisms develop into existing living organisms. Evolution can be considered as the basis of classification. While we classify organisms the former ones are called primitive or lower organisms and the latter group is called advanced or higher organisms. The characteristics are evolved from simple to complex forms and they are passed through heredity. One branch of biological classification is based on this evolution. Taxonomy based on evolution is known as evolutionary taxonomy which classify organisms using a combination of phylogenetic relationship,progenitor relationship and degree of evolutionary change. This is also known as evolutionary systematics or Darwinian classification.
