how hiv spread?

Hi,

@Aksir, Harsh has provided an appropriate answer to your question, but I would like to add a few points to clarify the concept.

AIDS or Acquired Immune deficiency syndrome is a viral disease, caused by the deadly virus (HIV).

  • AIDS can be transmitted by sharing contaminated needles while injecting drugs.
  • AIDS can be transmitted by having sexual contact with an infected person.
  • AIDS can also be transmitted from an infected mother to the child through pregnancy or breast feeding.

@Harsh, good answer, keep it up!

Cheers!!

Is this the only way for its spreading ?

The transmission of HIV from Breast feeding is not documented though there are  chances ,

apart from this 4th route via Blood transfuion is missed ( which i  think in india Daily 3.2 millions peoploe recevive blood for one or  other cause.)

i think the most appropriate answer to this question according to ncert will be

hiv is a causal vector for aids, hiv can be transmitted from one person to another by-

1.sexual intercourse without appropriate contraceptions.

2.from mother to child during pregnancy through placenta.(blood).

3.by using unchecked transfer of blood from infected to normal person.

4.using infected needles as injection.

actually aids is not tranfered by sinple agents like kissing, touching, sharing same utensilsetc

it is only travelled through blood.....
