How is a solution of sugar in water different from a solution of starch in water with respect to:
a.Tynddall effect b.Filterability c.Scattering of Light In a Form of table
Dear student
Sugar in water is a true solution, while starch in water is a Colloidal solution
Also a) Tyndal effect and c) Scattering of light refer to the same thing.
Effect | Sugar solution | Starch solution |
1. Tyndall effect | Does not scatter light, hence does not show Tyndall effect. | Shows Tyndall effect due to scattering of light |
2.Filterability | Sugar solution passes through ordinary filter paper as well as animal membrane. | Passes through ordinary filter paper but not through semipermeable membrane. |
