How is granite different from marble ?

Granite is a type of igneous rock. It is used to build houses, make floor tiles etc.

Marble is a metamorphic rock. It is often used to lay the floors or make statues. Chemically marble is Calcium carbonate ( CaCO3) . It is a chemical compound. It exists in the form of rock. It is made from lime which is a calcareous rock.
