Migration is an important determinant factor of population change because it changes not only the population size but the population composition of urban and rural populations in terms of age and gender composition.

migration effects the population of a place in a direct way. When people migrate in a place from another place, the population of the place increases. When people move out of an area to go to another place, the population decreases.

it is because it plays a very significant role in changing the composition and distribution of population.in india most migrants have been from rural to urban areas because of push factors in rural areas (poverty & unemployement) and pull factors in urban areas ( employement opportunities & better living conditions).

1) Internal Migration- internal migration do not affect the popoulation Of country but affects the population density.

2)External Migration - External migration is migration Of people to other countries. It affects the population Of country.

this is because most of the migrations in India are from rural to urban area.this not only change the population size but also change the composition , distribution of the urban areas.As a result there is population growth in cities and towns
