How is mother's opinion about snakes different from poet's

(From honeycomb poem Garden Snakes
By Muriel.L Sonne)

Dear Student,

The poet thought that all snakes were dangerous. Therefore, when he saw a snake in the garden, he was petrified. However, his mother informed him that not all snakes were dangerous. Some like the garden snake were kind and not dangerous. Therefore, the opinion of the poet about snakes was guided by fear. However, her mother was wise and understood that not all snakes are dangerous.
