How much fresh water, salt water and other water we have please say me as soon as possible immediately
Dear student,
Please find below the answer:
About 97.5% of the total water on the Earth has a large quantity of dissolved salts (Saline or ocean water) in it, thereby making it unsuitable for human consumption.
The amount of fresh water on Earth is only 2.5%. Out of this 2.5%, 68.7% is in the form of ice caps and glaciers and hence is not available to us. The remaining freshwater i.e. 1.2% and 30.1% is available as surface water and groundwater respectively. Of this 1.2% surface water, 69% is in form of ground ice and permafrost, 20.9% is in lakes, 3.8% is present as soil moisture, 3% is in the atmosphere, 0.46% is in rivers, 2.6% is in swamps and marshes and 0.26% is utilised by living things,
So, only 0.3% of the total water on earth is usable for humans.
Hope this clears your doubt.
Regards.
