The following points may help you: 1. Population is the most important element to be studies and analyzed in social science. 2. It is the main point of reference from which all other aspects of society are studied , observed and derive significance. 3. For example when we talk of resources, we may refer to its exploitation , optimum utilization, scarcity in the context of human beings who are using them. 4. Human beings are both the producers and consumers of resources. 5. Likewise, when we refer to any natural disaster it is talked of as a disaster in terms of destruction it causes to human beings. 6. It is the various aspects of population like its growth, distribution that helps us to understand other aspects of our social, political , economic environment
