How soil affects from continuous plantation?

Dear Student, As you would know many nutrients are essential for growth of plants, most of which are absorbed from soil. If we continuously grow plants in a soil without giving gap for replenishment of nutrients, then soil may become deficient in nutrients like Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium etc. So, we should give a proper gap in soil while doing plantation so that soil can replenish it's nutrients. The practice of continuous plantation of crops causes the soil in fields to become poor in essential nutrients such as phosphorus, potassium, nitrogen and many more. The requirement of nutrients is essential for the normal functioning and growth of plants.
