How the perimeter of 2nd figure = 46 ?? every1 knows that 17+12+5=32 answer me fast. i am waiting.

Dear Student!

In the animation, it is given that perimeter of the figure ABCDE is 46 cm

AB = 12 cm, CD = 5cm, DE = 17 cm and BC = AE.

We need to calculate the lengths of the sides BC and AE.

Perimeter of the figure ABCDE = AB + BC + CD + DE + AE

∴ 12 cm + BC + 5 cm + 17 cm + BC = 46 cm  (BC = AE)

⇒ 2 BC + 34cm = 46 cm

⇒ 2 BC = 46 cm – 34cm = 12 cm

⇒ BC = 6 cm

∴ BC = AE = 6cm

Cheers!
