Rahul's saving = x(1 - 7/9) = 2x/9

Karan's saving = x(1 - 5/7) = 2x/7

Clearly, 2x/7 > 2x/9 ; so Rahul saves his greater part of income.

3. Rahul spends 7/9 of his income and Karan 5/7 of income. Both are unlike fractions. Convert to like fraction that is 49/63 and 45/63.Since spending of Rahul is more Karan is saving the greater part of income.
