how was Pungi came to be named Shehnai

emperor aurangazeeb banned the playing of a musical instrumet called pungi in royal residence for the unpleasent sound.a barber of a family of professional music who had access to the royal places decided to improve thr tone of the pungi.he chose a natural pipe and made the pungi big broad and stiff and made 7 holes to improve the tone.

this pungi kept a new name :since it wasfirst played by the shas chamber and was played by the nai barber,the instrument was kept a name shennai .
