we can prove that air supports burning through an activity

we will need a candle, a deep tray and a glass

we will light the candle and put it on a tray full of water

take the glass and put it on the candle after some time the air present in the glass will finish and the candle will stop burning this shows that air supports burning as the candle stopped burning after some time when the glass was put on the candle

You can prove that air supports burning by the following experiment:

First you need a candle, a transparent drinking glass and a matchstick.

Now first lit the candle with the help of matchstick and lay it on a table. You will find that it dosen't have any problem in burning but then you cover it with a transparent drinking glass. You would be assumed to find that slowly and slowly the candle light is becoming dim and soon it stops burning since the candle used all the air present inside the glass for burning and when no air was left in the glass the candle stopped burning.

Take a lighted candle and a glass jar. Light the candle and after sometime you see that it fuses. It is because the supply of oxygen is not present as the glass jar blocks the oxygen from coming into it.
