Dear Student, This paragraph just explain the types of diatoms. Radial Symmetry means that the organism can be cut in two equal halves in any plane that is shown by Centrale Diatoms while Bilateral symmetry means that organism can be divided into two equal halves by only one plane that is shown by pennales. There are two modes of reproduction in both of these. Asexual mode is the binary fission where only one parent is required while sexual reproduction is by the production of gametes( male and female) that requires 2 parents. During sexual reproduction, spores named as auxospores are formed. These spores are also formed during dormant stage and so these are known as Rejuvenatory spores. Regards
